A beautiful fortress of medieval Castilla
Located in the village of Guadamur, on the outskirts of Toledo, in a beautiful setting, surrounded by olive and pine trees. Very near is the Ermita de Nuestra Señora de la Natividad.
It was classified as an Artistic Historical Monument for it’s fine architecture and historical value, having been at the center of one of the most important feudal areas of the late middle ages. At present it is cataloged as “Property of Cultural Interest” and placed on record at Catálogo de Patrimonio Cultural from Castilla-La Mancha.

Guadamur is located in the Montes de Toledo region, in an environment that encourages you to walk through olive groves, where you can observe birds of prey such as the imperial eagle and the griffon and black vultures. It has a wide range of rural tourism options. The extraordinary oils and cheeses are typical products of the area.
The Guarrazar Treasure, with crowns and crosses of Visigothic goldsmithing in gold and precious stones, was discovered in Guadamur. Replicas can be visited at the Guarrazar Treasure Interpretation Center. The Guarrazar Archaeological Site has uncovered a monastic-palatial complex linked to the Visigothic kings.
The Hermitage of Nuestra Señora de la Natividad and the Parish Church of Santa María Magdalena are valuable religious monuments in Mudejar and Renaissance styles. Nearby you can see the sculpture of Menina by Felipao, and Mafalda by Francisco López and Roberto Valero.
The Museum of Customs and Popular Arts of the Montes de Toledo, located in the old Hermitage of San Antón, and the Salyperla Doll Museum, which will make us relive our most tender childhood, are also noteworthy.
